INGREDIENTS
MACA (Lepidium peruvianum)
Maca, an atomized root grown in the Peruvian Andes, contains vitamins, minerals, and is low fat. It is both a natural aphrodisiac and an adaptogen, meaning it increases the body's resistance to external conditions. Four novel alkaloids have been found: Macaine 1, 2, 3, and 4. These are responsible for the activation of the hormone located in the brain that regulates the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus in the blood. It is estimated that the four alkaloids and the amino acid L-arginine are responsible for therapeutic effects.
AGUAJE (Mauritia flexuosa)
Aguaje is a palm tree native to the Amazon. Its fruits contain high levels of vitamin A and E, as shown by studies conducted jointly at the Belgian Faculté de Sciences Agronomiques de l’Etat, Gembloux, and the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (1987), and another study performed by the Brazilian Federal University of the State of Pará (1998). It contains phytoestrogens derived from phenylpropane and has 21 to 38 times more vitamin A than a carrot. It acts against menopause, osteoporosis, and estrogen deficiency since its phytoestrogens act as female hormones. Aguaje contains sitosterol, a precursor of female progestogen-type hormones. For this reason, it is believed that Aguaje capsules could help “increase breast size, reduce skin hairiness, and increase a woman’s beauty.”
GUARANA (Paullinia cupana)
Guarana is an Amazon fruit that contains caffeine which increases alertness, reduces stress and fatigue, and stimulates energy levels. Guarana is an aphrodisiac plant used by Amazon natives as well as a powerful antioxidant. In Brazil circa 1982, Dr. Aslan — who would later patent the famous GEROVITAL (a well-known anti-aging drug) — said about guarana: “You naturally have one of the most powerful youth sources known today.”
